How to get salmon to spawn
The King Salmind Xrtra Encounter is a rare and special event that can only be predicted to a certain extent by the “Salmometer” displayed while waiting in the Salmon Run lobby near the top right corner of the screen (as shown in the image above). If you keep accepting more tasks (play more Salmon Run matches) then the Salmoneter will start to increase the Salmometer. If you keep playing with the same party, it will probably grow even faster! When you are fully loaded, prepare to meet the king in the next match!
If you complete wave 3, you can end up with an Xtra Encounter. Instead of leaving, after successfully completing the third wave, an alarm will sound and the monster king will emerge from the water. You will have to kill the king within 100 seconds to succeed! If your team gets wiped or the clock runs out, it’s over.
How to beat the King Salmon
When the Xtra Encounter starts, your specials will be replenished. However, neither your specials nor your weapons will hurt the king much. Luckily, Mr. Grizz has equipped your team with a customized egg cannon! This will be the best way to damage Cohozuna! How to turn sound off on Instagram stories – fix the annoying glitch
The king does not appear alone; his pile of regular and boss salmonids come ashore. Your weapons are not very effective at damaging the king. Therefore, focus on taking out the boss salmonids first! Grab their golden eggs and throw them directly at the king to deal some serious damage!
What do you get for killing a king salmon?
If you defeat the king, Mr. Grizz will pay you a nice bonus for your efforts. Plus you get special fish scales. These scales can be exchanged for new Salmon Run items and even new uniforms at Grizzco! The fish scales come in three different variants: bronze, silver and gold. The higher difficulty you play, the better scale quality you get.

Splatoon 3: How to get fish scales
To get Fish Scales in Splatoon 3, you must participate in Xtrawave in Salmon Run Next Wave and damage King Salmonid. It’s worth noting that, like the previous game in the series, Salmon Run consists of three waves of salmon coming your way. And there is no guarantee that King Salmonid will appear after the third wave is completed. It’s possible that after completing the Salmon Run, you won’t encounter King Salmonid and that’s the end of the game.
But if you’re still lucky, here’s what you need to do to fight King Salmonid and get Fish Scales in Splatoon 3:
Once the King Salmonid appears, you will receive an egg cannon loaded with golden eggs. And to deal damage to King Salmonid, you must use this weapon.
After each shot, there is a chance that the King Salmon will drop one of three types of fish scales: bronze, silver, or gold.
Unlike the Salmonid waves, the King Salmonid fight does not end after defeating all the Salmonids. This battle has a limited time in which you must manage to get as many fish scales as possible.

Recently, Nintendo released Splatoon 3 five years after the release of Splatoon 2 as a farewell to the original. Splatoon 2 was a big hit among gamers thanks to the iconic Salmon Run mission. The new game has improvements such as new bosses, maps and game modes that have been introduced to improve the game. In Splatoon 3, the biggest improvement is the ability to throw Golden Eggs, which was not possible in previous games in the series.
That’s why we’ve prepared a complete guide to Golden Eggs and how to use them in Splatoon 3.
What are golden eggs in Splatoon 3
When you play Splatoon 3, you’ll see a lot of orange collectibles that look like eggs after a boss fight. Golden Eggs are a more advanced form of these collectible Power Eggs with a visible salmon embryo skeleton inside.
In Splatoon 3, you will encounter several Salmonids bosses while completing missions such as Salmon Run. These Salmon bosses will drop Golden Eggs when you spray them. The term Splat means when the health bar of the boss Salmonids drops to zero. Sea of Thieves update 2.6.1 patch notes
That being said, there are several salmon bosses in Splatoon 3. Each salmon boss drops a different number of Golden Eggs when splashed. Common Salmon bosses usually drop 3 Golden Eggs.
In Splatoon 3, some Salmonids bosses drop more or less than 3 Golden Eggs. Boss details are below:
Goldie Salmonids boss drops one Golden Egg during combat after 1 hit. Then drop 3 golden eggs when you splash them at the end of the fight.
The Goldie Salmonids boss will also drop one, five or ten Golden Eggs when there is fog on the horizon.
The Mothership Salmonids boss only drops by 1 the moment you fire and explode the Chinooks. This boss cannot be beaten.
Boss Griller Salmonids will drop 5 Golden Eggs when you smack them.
How to use and throw golden eggs
The goal of a mission like Salmon Run is to deposit golden eggs in the egg basket. In Splatoon 3, different missions will have a different quota of placing golden eggs in the egg basket. If we talk about Salmon Run, there are three waves in total with a maximum egg quota of 21, 23 and 25.
In each wave of the mission, you must first smack the boss. Then select the Golden Egg by running into it. After you collect the eggs, you have to put the eggs in the egg basket. You can either put the eggs in the egg basket by walking in front of it.
The second way is to throw the Golden Egg by aiming it at the basket first. Once you have the correct target, you can release it by pressing the “A” button on the console. Throwing the Golden Egg will require ink in your inventory to fuel the cannon.
The biggest advantage of throwing an egg is saving time when working with other team members. Then you won’t have to change your position if you’re not in range of the Egg Basket. Simply throw it at another team member who is near the egg basket.
Once you meet the required egg quota for a mission, you will complete the wave and eventually the entire mission. Another thing to look for are Snatchers. They will snatch your golden eggs if you don’t pick them within a certain time. However, you can get Golden Eggs from Snatcher by spraying him.
